Principal's Message

Legend families,

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! I’m excited to begin this school year as the new principal of Legend Elementary.  I truly feel blessed to become the principal of such a wonderful school, have the ability to lead instructional practices and engage with Legend’s students, families and staff.

I grew up on the shores of Lake Erie, but have proudly called Newark my home for the last 18 years. I reside in Newark with my husband and three sons, all who attend Newark City Schools. I’m proud to be a Newark Wildcat and to live in the community I serve.  This is my 20th year in education, 18 of those years being with Newark in various roles of early intervention specialist, teacher and Dean of Students.

Along with the staff, I will work hard to ensure we create a safe and nurturing environment for your child with a strong academic focus. At Legend, we embrace “CATS” for our Positive Behavior program, where we focus on; character, academics, teamwork and safety to create a positive environment for staff and students.

We will continue to develop, foster and strengthen relationships with parents, families and community partners to create positive relationships to support our students.

I look forward to the school year, getting to know your child and working together to make your child’s school experience memorable.
